Are headphones allowed?
Headphones are not prohibited-but are discouraged. Enjoy the company of your fellow runners as well as the music of nature. If you wear headphones during the event, be sure the volume is low enough to hear other runners who want to pass you. Turn devices off in aid stations to make it easier to communicate with the volunteers.
Am I allowed to run with my dog or pet during the race?
No. However, you should contact the race director via email at info@oneworldtrailrunning.org if you have special needs which would merit the use of a dog or pet.
Am I allowed a pacer during the race?
Pacers are not allowed at any time on the race course. However, you should contact the race director via email at info@oneworldtrailrunning.org if you have special needs which would merit the use of a pacer.
Why isn’t the race course certified?
There is no true course certification process for trail races. This course was measured using multiple Gamin 310XT GPS watches.

What should I expect the weather to be?
The early spring months are similar to winter with the same likelihood of storms. The late spring temperatures rise to the 70°F’s during the day and evening temperatures drop to approximately 30° – 45°F. We recommend that you pack warmly for both seasons, although lighter wear will suffice for late spring.
The summer months bring long hot days averaging 85°F, which is ideal weather to experience the many activities at Salt Fork. Enjoy an summer evening stroll through the park, as night temperatures reside in 60°F’s.
Is there cell phone service?
Cell phone service is available for most providers; however, we can’t guarantee the signal strength.
Is there a business center?
Besides offering 4,528 square feet of meeting space, we also provide high speed Internet and e-mail access with package shipping, copy and facsimile services. Upon check-in please visit the front desk for the location of our business services.
Can I check into my room or cottage early?
Although we try to accommodate your requests for an early check-in, it’s not always possible, depending on how full the lodge or cottages were the night before and how quickly our guests check out in the morning. Our reservation center will be happy to note a request for early check-in on your reservation; however, we cannot guarantee such requests. It’s a good idea to call the lodge the evening before or the morning of your arrival to see if they can give you an idea of how early you can check in.
Can I check out of my room or cottage late?
We’re glad you want to linger at our parks for a while, but we can’t always allow you to linger in your room! As long as the lodge is not sold out and we do not need your room, an extra hour for check-out is allowed. We do ask you to be considerate of guests checking in behind you who don’t want to wait for their room to be ready. Please check with the front desk the morning of your departure to see if a late check-out is possible.
Is there an entrance fee to enter the park?
There is no park entrance fee to enter Salt Fork State Park.
How far in advance can I make lodging reservations?
We offer reservations up to 12 months in advance of arrival.
Do you have a waitlist for room reservations?
We do not offer a waitlist for reservations.
Since you don’t have a waitlist, should I check back every day for a cancellation?
Cancellations do occur; however, they can occur at random with limited success in obtaining the dates and accommodations desired. If your first choice is not available, rather than scheduling your vacation around the possibility of a cancellation, we suggest checking alternate dates instead. If you want to continue to check for cancellations, you may do so by visiting ourCheck Availability – Book Online page.
Why can’t I find my reservation through the Web site reservation system?
Currently our online reservation system will only allow modifications or cancellations to reservations initially booked on our Web site.
Can I cook in my room?
Cooking is not allowed in our guestrooms; however, we do allow cooking in our cottages which come with fully-equipped kitchens.
Do you offer Wireless Internet Access?
We do offer high-speed wireless Internet.
Can I have a pet in my room?
Salt Fork Lodge has limited cottages that are designated “pet friendly.” If you plan on bringing your pet, please advise the reservation agent when making your reservation at 1-800-AT-A-PARK (282-7275) prior to your arrival so that they can make arrangements for you. Pets are not permitted in any lodge rooms or cottages not designated at “pet friendly.” All assistance dogs for visually or hearing impaired or orthopedically challenged individuals are permitted in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1991.
Do I need dining room reservations?
Reservations are not required.
